Short and sweet!

Not gonna post a lot. But one of my blogger friends has been trying to adopt for AGES! They've gone through lots of riga-ma-roll of being looked at through the agency but never selected. I haven't checked blogs for weeks and I finally did. They have a baby! Please go check it out. http://waitinglisa.blogspot.com/

I am so happy for her and her husband. They have waited so long and now their dream has come true! Congrats Lisa! It's your time!

Our fertility (or lack there of) history

7/2007 - Decided to go off birth control

11/2007 - Intense cramping in abdomen

2/2008 - Ultrasound revealed cysts (oh joy!)

6/2008 - First round of testing (J and self); First round Clomid

9/2008 - Healing Mass (see first ever post written, not posted)

11/2008 - HSG and first met Dr. H (clear and normal)

3/2009 - First official appointment with Dr. H

4/2009 - First Acupuncture and Prometrium taken, Blog started

8/2009 - First IUI with Femara - no pregnancy

9/2009 - Second IUI with Femara - no pregnancy

10/2009 - Third IUI with Femara - no pregnancy

11/2009 - 30th birthday

3/2010 - Appt with Dr. H to discuss next steps

4/2010-4/2011 - Year off

6/2011 - IVF process begun (19 eggs retrieved, 11 fertilized, 7 frozen)

7/2011 - 2 eggs transferred into my uterus

8/2011 - We're pregnant, possibly with twins! (We later learned that one didn't make it and "vanished" into his/her sibling).

11/22/2011 - We learned we are having a baby girl!

4/12/12 - Reese Josephine was born via c-section at 8:15 am weighing 8 lbs and 1 oz. She was 19.75 inches long and is beautiful.

BC: Birth Control

BFN: Big Fat Negative

BFP: Big Fat Positive

CD: Cycle Day

Clomid: Clomiphene citrate - Fertility drug that stimulates more ovulation, can create side effects like hot flashes or multiple births, and can only be taken for up to 6 months.

DPO: Days Past Ovulation

Endo: Endometriosis (uteran lining forming on the outside of the uterus, thus creating pain and possibly making getting pregnant difficult, along with other fun symptoms)

ER: Egg Retrieval

ET: Egg Transfer

FET: Frozen Embryo Transfer aka Snowbabies

FF: Fertility Friend Charting Website

HRM: Heart Rate Monitor

Levatrol: Also called Femera - Fertility drug that is a little pricier than Clomid but does about the same thing, with less chance of multiples and less side effects (so they tell me). Usually used to treat post-menopausal women with breast cancer.

LP: Latency Period aka time between ovulation and when AF arrives.

MIL: Mother-in-Law

OV: Ovulation

OV watch: Watch you wear at night that helps predict when you ovulate

OOP: Paying out of pocket

OPK: Ovulation Predictor Kit

PG: Pregnant

POAS: Pee On A Stick

PROM:Prometrium (drug used to thicken the lining of the uterus after ovulation) - may take through first trimester of pregnancy if Dr.'s orders hold

RE: Reproductive Endocrinologist (Fertility Specialist)(Dr. H)

SA: Sperm Analysis

Stims: Ovulation Stimulator Drugs (Follistim/Menopur)

Trigger: Drug you take two days before ER. Signals the stop of stims and triggers ovulation.

U/S: Ultra Sound

WW: Weight Watchers
